In January 2019, Ipsen announced a company-wide commitment to make its newly published scientific research freely accessible to everyone.
The aim of the commitment is to publish all Ipsen-sponsored research with open access (OA), whereby manuscripts are “openly accessible online and free of cost or other barriers”.
The benefits of publishing research with OA include greater transparency and accessibility, and a wider reach of research findings.1,2
To assess the impact of the OA commitment, we evaluated the OA status and copyright licence for manuscripts affiliated to Ipsen before and after the commitment came into effect on 1 January 2019.
